Talk talk

Sorry to have been a bit slow in posting over the last few days. The Dowry of Mary week in the parish wiped out the evenings - in a very worthwhile manner. Yesterday evening I was at the parish of the Good Shepherd in New Addington to speak to Fr Stephen Boyle's young adults' group on Science and Religion. This evening, I will be going over to Balham, to the home of Southark Vocations, to speak to the Forum Christi group for young adults on the question of Civil Partnerships. Now its is time to go into Church for our Carol Service, for which the choir has prepared some lovely motets to intersperse with the popular carols.

Next week is the last week of the school term. There are two events at the Junior School, the meetings to start the First Communion and Confirmation programmes, a Deanery Meeting and a trip to New Addington to hear confessions of the schoolchildren. I am hoping to keep Wednesday free during the day to attend the Opus Dei Day of Recollection for Clergy at Wickenden Manor. I think I will need it.

The following week, it all slows down. Christmas is not actually "my busy time".
