Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.
I will moderate comments if I can get to a live internet connection at Ampleforth. If not, you'll have to wait until Thursday evening or possible Friday afternoon (I have an important funeral in the morning.)

Dear Father Tim,
re Sunday "I have an important funeral in the morning"
Please don't get me wrong - I love your blog and find it inspirational. But I couldn't resist asking. Is there such a thing as an UNimportant funeral???

Touché. Yes of course they are all important. But the lady whose funeral is on Friday has been a stalward of Welling Blackfen parishes for a long time. A few years ago, before her dear husband died, Bishop Henderson came to celebrate Mass for their 60th wedding anniversary - they had welcomed him into the parish of Welling when he was a young curate!
She has really "borne the heat of the day" and so the funeral is that little bit extra special.
God bless.
Point well taken! May she rest in peace.
