Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.
As a parish priest, I often encourage parents to pray with their children - you can never start too soon :-)
Warmest congratulations to Ma, Pa and J. (See more at the Ward Wide Web)

"Dad, would you pray with me? I want to go out to play!" When the kids were very little and we started to let them go out to the playground by themselves, we first put an arm around them and asked the Lord to bless them and keep them safe.
We availed ourselves of this opportunity to pray blessings upon them for their entire lives-not excluding their studies, their vocations and much else. Perhaps it took thirty or forty seconds. Between ages three and ten this scene was repeated often two and three times a day. Did it "work"? O yes, but that would need a blog in itself to tell. God has answered those prayers abundantly, and the blessings keep unfolding...
