A friend of a friend said...

Just to keep all of us motumaniacs happy, the Lord in his providence arranged for me to receive an email from a priest friend today.

He has a lawyer friend who knows a lawyer in New York who was recently speaking to a famous person (I won't put the name in case this is all complete tosh.) She said that she had a private audience with the Pope who told her that the Motu Proprio was definitely coming out in May.

I'll laugh if this turns out to be the true rumour!

My guess is.. And I have heard this from a certain traditional Monsignor in the UK, that the date is May 5th - The Traditional feast of Pope St. Pius V.

I saw the same rumour on Fr Z's blog a while back... though he didn't seem to put much stock in it!

Well, if this famous person is the same famous person as the famous person whose name appears on the internet elsewhere, as having asked the Pope about the matter in a private audience, and if she really did tell your friend's friend's friend that it would be in May, then I'd believe it. If there's one person the Holy Father would tell, out of sheer personal regard and because she deserved to know, it would probably be she.

Is that the one via Amy Welbournes husband?
Tomorrow is another date

I believe in loyalty to my parish, but I will definitely travel as many miles as necessary to follow the Latin Mass, and to support the priest and parish who offer it.

This "famous person" that this latest rumour relates to is none less than Alice Von Hildebrand (noted Catholic author and wife of famous philosopher Dietrich Von Hildebrand) wo recently had an audience with the Pope.

I, on the other hand, has a dream that the Motu Propio will come out between now and the second coming. I'm bound to be right!

So, are we taking bets whether the MP or the Parousia comes first?

Or is it going to be the day snow and freezing rain is forecasted in the infernal city of Dis?

Leeds has just spent 2 million on reordering the Cathedral along the lines of the novus ordo with Arthur's absurd cathedra dominating where the blessed sacrament should be.

Given that Arthus is the chairman of ICEL, I just don't believe these rumours.

By the way, on the subject of things Arthurian, does Fr. Tim have an idea as to who will replace Cormac (if his resignation is accepted)? Any chance of you getting a mitre, Fr Tim if it is all change in the summer?
