Amy's funeral tomorrow

Tomorrow morning, I will be celebrating the funeral of Amy Curran, a young girl who was tragically killed in a car accident on New Year's Day along with two friends (see Amy Curran RIP).

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Amy, for the comfort and consolation of her mother, Linda, her father, Tom, and her brother Nick, and all her young friends. (Please also spare a prayer for me too as this will be a difficult day.)

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
I will pray for the repose of her soul and the consolation of her parents.

Be assured of my prayers for the souls of those who died, for their families and for yourself, Father Tim. The most difficult funeral Mass I have ever celebrated was that of a young man of 23, Jimmy Gelera, whose family I was very close to, who crashed his motorcycle into a bus here in the Philippines. His 28th anniversary is this Saturday.

Father John at Our Ladye Star of the Sea in Greenwich mentioned Amy in the prayers this morning at Mass. May she, and her friends, rest in peace.

Many thanks for all your prayers. The Mass has been celebrated now, and Amy's family and young friends have been able to gather in the parish hall for some food and drink and company.

Fr Sean - we had a funeral here a few years ago for one Josie Decierdo from Mintanao. He came to England and married a lovely English girl, Lisa. Sadly he was killed in a motorcycle accident on his way home from work. His two young children are now at school and growing in their faith because of their mother's goodness and faith. The family from the Philippines came over one time and I was able to greet them and talk to them. Josie is always in our prayers here - and many Masses for his intention.
