Vigorous support from Italy

Sorry I haven't time to translate this article but if you read Italian, you will enjoy this blistering exposé of English liberal Catholicism as exemplified by the Tablet. See: In Inghilterra la stampa vicina all’episcopato diffama un sacerdote che applica il motu proprio

Raffaella has linked to the article on her Papa Ratzinger Blog.

Many thanks to these influential Italian blogs for coming out so strongly in support.

I have read it(Iam italian) and you are vigorously supported to take over at Westminster

Here's Google's machine translation. A bit tortured, but gives the gist of each paragraph, I think:

Father, I haven't commented on this whole "Tablet" situation before but have been keeping pace with it all. Your courage is very admirable and holy. Thank you for your obedience to the Holy Father and your committment to what is right. Be assured of my prayers!

My Italian is not very good, but I get the gist! The comments are very positive as well. I very much liked the new english metaphor created by a correspondant writing in English who describes the Italian Bishops who are resisting the motu proprio, as 'biting against a file'

I must remember to use that one instead of 'pushing water uphill' or some such equivalent

I like the bit which calls Elena Curti's article 'odious' !

That sums it up really.

One thing to say to that Father: lupi sunt et lupi esse videntur!

I love the reference to our complaining nine as 'they poisoned teeth' brigade. Brilliant translation Scott. God Bless Father Tim.

God bless You Father Tim, because of Your loyalty to our poor Holy Father, who, more and more often, seems to be alone among many wolfs, even inside the Church!
