Mgr Richard Moth and I were fellow students at Wonersh in the first year in 1976 and it was fun to see the Italian language announcement the other day (complete with misteaks) telling of his appointment as Bishop of the Forces in succession to Bishop Tom Burns who has gone to Menevia. Mgr Moth is a respected Canon Lawyer, has been Vicar General in Southwark since 2001, has served in the Territorial Army, and is a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He has been the Spiritual Director to the Order's pilgrimages to the Holy Land for some years.
Richard is at home with the forces, enjoys horse-riding and has been known to engage in the odd bit of huntin' and shootin' and I am sure will have the respect of officers, men, and fellow-chaplains. I wish him every blessing in his ministry.
More information at the Archdiocese of Southwark website, where there is a short bio, and a press release.
Please remember Bishop-elect Moth in your prayers.

Dear Father Finigan
Mgr Richard Moth was the Canon Lawyer who dealt with the annulment of my first marriage, before I was accepted into the Catholic Church at Our Lady of the Rosary, by your predecessor Father Tony Pyle.
I know from personal experience that Mgr Richard Moth's priestly intervention can bring peace into what was once a war zone.
Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us!
Dear Father Finigan
The first radio report that I heard concerning the Real IRA car bomb in Northern Ireland said it was targetting MI5's Northern Ireland HQ.
In my professional opinion, the ending of the suppression of my 'A Deo et Rege' Catholic case evidence for the defence 1991-2010 against NF/BNP entry-ism at the Old Addeyans FC/Densitron International PLC development here in London could help to defuse this critical situation before Pope Benedict XVI's visit to the UK.
With the help of my MP John Austin I defeated the IPCC & Sir Ian Blair, the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis on these FARE Human and Civil Rights issues on the 28th February 2007 in Court No 1 at the Royal Courts of Justice before the Honourable Mr Justice Goldring, the RECORD OF EVENTS presented to the Court fully detailed the shameful attempts at joint cover up by the Met Police and the IPCC that occurred after the Erith Sector, Police and Community meeting at Erith Town Hall on the 3rd February 2005.
The following report provides further details for Bishop Richard Moth:
Real IRA terrorists claimed responsibility yesterday for a car bomb attack on MI5's Northern Ireland HQ.
The blast came just minutes after law and order powers were handed to Stormont for the first time in 38 years.
Bombers hijacked a Belfast taxi and held its driver and his family hostage for two hours before planting the device in his car.
He was then ordered to drive the Skoda to the back entrance of Palace Barracks in Holywood, Co Down.
The driver shouted "It's a bomb!" to security guards after parking - sparking a rapid evacuation of the surrounding area.

At the next General Election former Met Police Inspector Michael Barnbrook, the malevolent neo-Nazi BNP Police Spokesman, will now be standing as a candidate for MP in the Dagenham and Rainham Parliamentary constituency. Nick Griffin MEP, the BNP's leader will be standing as a candidate for MP in the neighbouring Parliamentary constituency of Barking. The BNP are also threatening to put up candidates in both the Bexleyheath and Crayford, and the Old Bexley and Sidcup constituencies in the London Borough of Bexley.
Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us in BNP leader Nick Griffin MEP's EU/GLA/LDA/ODA NEO-NAZI DEVELOPMENT TIMES Amen
Yours sincerely

Dear Father Finigan
In 2010 Bishop Burns of Menevia FORMER Bishop of the Forces appeared to link Priests interested in celebrating Mass in the Extraordinary Form with 'clericalism' and, in particular, a kind of 'clericalism' which led to crimes against children.
Tradophobia?
I think prayers for a good and holy Bishop to put us in our place have already been answered i.e ...Mgr Moth appointed Bishop of the Forces.
Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us!
