Just over a month ago, I reported the fairly widespread speculation on the Vatican Team chosen for talks with the SSPX. This has now been confirmed by the Press office of the Holy See.
The talks are to begin on Monday 26 October. they will take place at the Palazzo del Sant’Ufficio, the home of what is now called the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. I expect that the morning coffee break will be even more of a buzz than it normally is.
If you want to prepare a Novena to pray for the success of the process, you could begin this coming Sunday.

Perhaps I'm being cynical, Father, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I hardly think the Pope is going to defect.
If I may ask, why your continued fascination with them? The fact that they have not come back into the fold in 2007 after the generous S.P. in favor of allowing all priests to say the EF form of Mass tells me all I want to know about them. They think they are more Catholic than the pope, as far as I can tell.
I suppose I became particularly fascinated by them after being present at their Mass in Lourdes. I think that those who would be prepared to reach a "settlement" would be an asset to the Church. The Pope seems to think it worthwhile trying to get an agreement with them.
Why all this resentment for our brother and sister catholics, can we not see that they are holding the golden cup of Christ sacrifice, while we hold the plastic one, what is best before the cross of Christ, to come to God.
