It seems that the blessing received by Monsignora Mastai Furretti has taken. I write "Monsignora" since she seems, as far as I can tell, to be a traddy womyn-prelate. Since she doesn't have a spiritual and immortal soul and therefore cannot have a sacramental character, perhaps there is some way of justifying this theologically, though I shall resist the temptation to include it as a scholion in my (sometime) forthcoming book on Sacramental Theology.
The Mulier Fortis who is carer to the feline Prelatess has posted photographs showing that the Monsignora who claims family links with the Blessed Pius IX was presented with the article of Mgr Basil Loftus in which he said that Christ "was not physically present when he appeared to the disciples after the resurrection" and a copy of The Remnant. The result are incontrovertible. Here is but one of the photos:

Watch it ! Mulier Fortis and yourself might find that you will have a nice letter threatening legal action against you !
It could look as if the cat is ignoring The Remnant, knowing that it's likely to be the usual trad. Catholic rant, and opening the other paper at Mgr. Loftus' thoughtful and insightful piece. A discerning cat indeed!
Shouldn't it be "Masignora"? Just askin', as Fr Z. might say.
And may the good kitty use this newspaper for what all good kitties do...if you catch my drift:<)!
The Remnant has to be one of the most gloriously bonkers newspapers I've ever read. I think they've moderated a bit post-Summorum Pontificum, and their website can be very useful, but the paper copy I was sent a few years ago seemed largely devoted to matters geocentric.
Still, I'd rather read pseudo-scientific defences of geocentrism than pseudo-Catholic theology.
Savonarola - LOL. Fair play to you for your alternative hermeneutic of this incident :-)
Michael - hmmm. Good point.
Monsignor sues cat.
Should make for a good headline.
Does this mean the cat is "barking" or would that be the author of the piece that the cat has decided to check for orthoDOGsy ???
Although I'm not the Remnents biggest fan I'd rather that Mac's little monsingora shreeded the apparently not so catholc times for use in her litter tray.
Too bad Mac doesn't also have a bird. She could use the shreded bits for bird cage liner.
' with the article of Mgr Basil Loftus in which he said that Christ "was not physically present when he appeared to the disciples after the resurrection" '
Uh, isn't that heretical? Just saying. Apparently the dude missed the bit about doubting Thomas and the import of the mention.
Fr. Tim,
If we visit your blog in the near future and it's suddenly been renamed "Fr. Tim Finigan's Blog", we will know exactly what's happened.
Father, which issue of the Catholic Times did this article appear in as I am trying to find a copy for a small discussion about it in my parish.
Many Thanks
It was Sunday 10 October.
