More moves afoot in the Curia

Fr John Zuhlsdorf gives the news of two Interesting changes in the Curia yesterday. Cardinal Hoyos has resigned from the Congregation for the Clergy and has been replaced by Cardinal Hummes. Cardinal Hoyos will continue to head Ecclesia Dei.

Also, the Holy Father has accepted the resignation of the Archpriest of St Peter's Basilica, Cardinal Francesco Marchisano.

As Fr John points out, the Basilica of St Peter has been less than helpful towards those wishing to celebrate the Classical Roman Rite. As he sums it up:
So, a new Pharoah will enter the Sacristy of the Basilica and Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos is still President of "Ecclesia Dei" in very interesting times.
