Viva il Papa !!!
Long live our Pope-emeritus .
Don't forget what may turn out to be his greatest achievement ... the hermeneutic of continuity:)
Amen to that!
What a confusing time. I write this with a tear rolling down my beak yet at the same time I like the idea of the Holy Father being able to pray and study in the peace of his retirement. He has truly been a rock for us.
Totally agree Father.
Deo Gratias.
I am a convert, one who was drawn to the one, true holy and Apostolic Church by the Real Presence and the Apostolic Succession.
I was, however, dismayed by the banality of the liturgy and the almost deliberate downplaying of the sacred, in particular the lack of reverence given to the Blessed Sacrament (the Blessed Sacrament having been the key to my conversion).
So, my faith trundled along in second gear - until His Holiness Pope Benedict issued his Summorum Pontificum, which liberated the 'Extraordinary Form' of the Mass.
Until then, I had simply assumed tht by 'Latin Mass' people simply meant a Novus Ordo Mass said in Latin; but intrigued by the controversy I sought out a traditional Latin Mass. What a revelation! This was what I had been searching for for so many years. Since then, my faith has grown and has kept on growing.
Thank you, your Holiness, for your courage and example. May God continue to bless you; we will miss you.
Dear Holy Grandpapa, how I will miss seeing you! Thank you for all you have given to us.
Hear! and again Hear! Inevitable sadness of course but full of gratitude for eight wonderful years, accompanied by many prayers for a worthy successor.
