Bishop praises IPPF supporter

Bishop Arthur Roche recently met Cherie Blair (the wife of the British Prime Minister) at the Venerable English College in Rome (home to 44 martyrs, including St Edumund Campion). Cherie was given an opportunity to speak to the students. Bishop Roche said that it was a great chance to exchange ideas with a prominent Catholic and fantastic role model.

Here is an idea of Ms Blair's role modelling from the 1 August 2003 edition of the Catholic Herald:
Cherie Blair, the wife of the UK Prime Minister and a prominent Catholic, has angered campaigners by lending her support to an IPPF initiative, Lust for Life. Mrs Blair hosted a private reception at 10 Downing Street for the Lust for Life campaign which hopes to raise £100,000 for the organisation. Nuala Scarisbrick of LIFE said: "There is no life in the IPPF's campaign, only death. She should know that. IPPF is behind China's one-child policy."
IPPF is pro-abortion and works against what it describes as the "Global Gag Rule - the US policy that denies reproductive health moneys to foreign NGOs that support, provide or refer for abortions." See the IPPF article here
