In July, Pope Benedict XVI recognised the healing of Deacon Jack Sullivan in 2001 as a miracle resulting from the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God John Henry Newman. This means that his Beatification has been effectively approved. See Pope Benedict XVI approves Newman's beatificationRev Jack Sullivan gave a press conference in Birmingham yesterday speaking about the miracle, giving a moving account of his experience. He also preached at Mass at Westminster Cathedral.
Deacon Jack Sullivan will be assisting at Mass at the Birmingham Oratory tomorrow. The blog for the cause of the Canonisation of John Henry Newman which has provided all the above news, also highlights the significance of the orientation of the altar. Dear Father Finigan
I believe that you experience the supernatural when you dream i.e
A SINNER'S DREAM OF MARY
When I was out a wandering upon the hills so green
I spied myself a vision of a bright celestial Queen
(Refrain)
A rosary,a rosary with rainbows all around
A blood red cross she gave to me upon that hallowed ground
She wore a crown of silver and in her arms she bore
A child who was the future of mans peace and not of war
(Refrain)
A rosary,a rosary with rainbows all around
A blood red cross she gave to me upon that hallowed ground
Corpus Christi woman was the lady that I saw
Build inside she said to me mans inner self once more
(Refrain)
A rosary,a rosary with rainbows all around
A blood red cross she gave to me upon that hallowed ground
‘Newman pointed to the supernatural, he saw beyond the limited vision of others’
Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us!
Dear Fr. Tim
We were blessed to attend Holy Mass at the Oratory today and to hear Deacon Jack's witness to the love and mercy of God.
What a great gift it is to be given the gift of the Catholic Faith!
Deacon Jack reminded everyone that God never abandons any of us in our sorrow or trials but brings from them a higher good.
Good News indeed!
In Christ
Alan and Angeline
