Losing my religion marbles

Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens are planning to arrest the Pope when he comes to the UK in September.

All together now:
No, you've HAD your dinner...

You've already got your trousers ON...

MATRON, take them away!

The one good thing I can see about this bit of nonsense is that it transfers some of their ill-gotten gains into the pockets of lawyers who can find a better use for it . . . otherwise it will all go on paying for their care when they're admitted to St Dympna's Hospital for the Elderly Deranged !

I am somewhere between utter shock and maybe something close to laughter(?). What can we expect, though, I guess from those who claim God is like the tooth fairy?

These two are either scary or loony.

This is not the first time that I have expressed my doubts about what attempts will be made against the Pope when he goes to Britain. I fear that anything could happen to him. And I do mean ANYTHING.

Educated people may dismiss the media frenzy with a shrug of unconcern but there is no telling what those whose opinions are formed by the media and people like Hitchens and Dawkins may do. We must pray for the Holy Father.

These people. Well, I know who to pray for today then, don't I? May God have mercy on these men and their foolish, puffed up minds.

Hmmm

So these two clowns are aligning themselves with Monsieur Buonaparte who kidnapped Pius VII and Herr Hitler who wanted to arrest Pius XII, not to speak of the possibility of making the UK a laughing stock in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Last month I wrote to my local MP (Conservative, Jewish family, professes to be atheist, but courteous and open minded, highly intelligent - you can guess who he is) to thank him for voting against the Government's Children, Schools and Families Bill and then voting for the Government's last minute amendment.

I also expressed my concern that there would be attempts to humiliate the Pope by militant homosexuals and secularists during his coming visit to the UK.

In reply my MP said 'I very much hope that you are wrong in your pessimistic view of the likely response to the Pope's forthcoming visit. I profoundly hope that the nation as a whole accord him the respect that is due to the leader of one of the world's great faiths'

He also went on to recognise the very good education provided by a multitude of Catholic schools

A certain amount of comfort.

Well mah husband's a police officer..perhaps they might go for a citizen's arrest or we could do one on them? Sure me & Jane can sort something out! lol

You do know my theory is that the Holy Father will postpone his visit..just a hunch I've always had..

Apparently Professor Dawkins has wimped out and has said that he WON'T be trying to arrest the Holy Father. Not sure about his friend Mr Hitchens.

The sad thing is that one could quite easily believe that the poor men would actually try it.

I think they deserve pity and prayers rather than opprobrium.

Dear Father Finigan

Peter was crucified in Rome and buried where the Basilica of St Peter was later built, beneath the high altar.

Is it so surprising that the Pope Benedict XVI, who is the sole successor to the "supremacy" of St Peter, and is thus the "Vicar of Christ" for the world should be threatened with arrest in the 21st Century?

To have the Pope Benedict XVI arrested during his state visit to Britain “for crimes against humanity”, where WMD liar Tony Blair is still a free man, would be the ultimate madness.

I know from experience what a great prison visitor you are, and Pope Benedict XVI can rest assured that he will receive the best support INSIDE 'N' OUT during his visit to the UK.

PAPA RATZI ORA PRO NOBIS!

Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us!

Good article about the hysteria of the 'New Atheists' on that Spiked website you linked to in an earlier post:
