Fr Z & Fr Finigan caught red-handed

The New Statesman "Staggers" blog has a list of the top ten Christian blogs. Fr Z is second and I am third. How on earth did we get into the New Statesman for heaven's sake! It's slightly scary since Damian Thompson has only recently lambasted Archbishop Rowan Williams for being Guest Editor.

Tomorrow, I shall ask the Mulier Fortis if I can borrow Miaowrini so that we can deal with the Church Mouse who is number 1 apparently.

This blogging thing does get quite bonkers at times. I'm going to bed.

Congratulations Father.

According to a talk I went to a few months ago the political classes take blogs very seriously, especially when they are satirised, but who knows who may be visiting you now.

Over at bara brith I continue to be number 6 on google images for delphiniums, providing plenty of random evangelisation traffic... or something.

Congratulations!

Besides, blog #1 isn't Catholic (I think) so it doesn't count.. ;)

@ Father Finigan

The Staggers presents its list of top ten Christian blogs from around the world.

Good to see you entering into the world charts straight at No 3 :-)

I think that the C of E's blog from churchmousepublishing@gmail.com is a bit of a Wombles of Wimbledon novelty production that has attracted people who love little furry creatures (I don't mean the Archbishop of Canterbury), and I think that in the long run you will make it to No 1.

Here is a comment I posted on the Larner Road Regeneration facebook page on June 9th.. @Lucy Moore, God really must have heard my prayer for you, Larner Road Regeneration, and the UK, as not only are you making serious progress towards occupying a decent property, but the Queen's top Churchman the leader of the world's Anglicans, Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams, has spoken up for the poor & criticised the ConDem Nation government, accusing it of "forcing through radical policies for which no-one voted" http://www.newstatesman.com/uk-politics/2011/06/long-term-government-democracy Good luck with today's viewing I won't cross my fingers I'll say another prayer as instructed :-) RIP Canon David Diamond, Guardian of Walsingham too!

PS Lucy Moore and her children have since been given a house to replace their tower block flat in Medina House on the Larner Road Estate aka Hell's Gateway.

Our Lady of the Rosary ( http://the-hermeneutic-of-continuity.blogspot.com/2011/05/visit-to-tomb-of-blessed-john-paul-ii.html ) pray for us!

Well deserved. Remember that cycling priests can cover much more ground than a little mouse on its circular wheel.

Excellent, Fr. That wonderful actor, Rik Mayall, who starred in the TV Series, "The New Statesman" would be proud of your achievement !!! Pity they couldn't get your name spelt correctly. Never mind. You've made the Glossies !!!

With just 400 days to go before the start of the London Olympics, the Church of England has released a prayer for those preparing for the 2012 Games. It asks God to be with the athletes, their supporters and families, and the thousands of churches preparing to organise Olympics-themed events in their communities, and it is read on a new podcast by GB Olympic 400m gold medallist Christine Ohuruogu MBE.

A prayer in preparation for the 2012 Games

Eternal God,
Giver of joy and source of all strength,
we pray for those
who prepare for the London Olympic and Paralympic games.
For the competitors training for the Games and their loved ones,
For the many thousands who will support them,
And for the Churches and others who are organising special events and who will welcome many people from many nations.
In a world where many are rejected and abused,
we pray for a spirit
of tolerance and acceptance, of humility and respect
and for the health and safety of all.
May we at the last be led towards the love of Christ who is more than gold, today and forever. Amen
