Michael Voris is coming to London

Over at Smeaton's Corner, Paul has posted news of the visit of Michael Voris to London. The title of the talk is "Living the Catholic faith radically" and the venue is Regent Hall on Oxford Street. It will be on Wed 24 August at 7pm. Tickets are £5, available from Smeaton's Corner or by emailing voristalklondon@gmail.com.

I'm annoyed that I'll be away on holiday on the day that he is coming: I would very much have liked to hear Michael Voris speak live, and to meet him.

I'm afraid I have given up listening to him. He is far too smug and negative. He seems to stand in judgement over everyone and everything and delight in doing so. I'm a bit surprised Father that you are publicising his visit to England. His very, very negative vortex needs a sister vortex where he speaks of the good that is being achieved thanks to the grace of God throughout the church.

I have just read Denys link to the diocesan statement on Voris...

... and it makes him go up in my estimation.

I checked the link at the Diocese of Scranton. Voris has been banned from Scranton for being insensitive to people of other faiths? I would think they might like to offer some additional information if they are banning someone as a speaker.

@ Fr Ronald Kilgannon: "He seems to stand in judgement over everyone and everything and delight in doing so."

:-S That sounds a bit judgemental to me!

In my experience he judges actions, not people. What's your evidence for saying he 'delights' in doing so?

On whether Real Catholic TV are too negative and don't produce enough positive material: http://bit.ly/iUpDph

He's a very approachable chap. Why not come along and ask him if he has considered a different approach?

Just as the Second Vatican council failed to prepare priests for the moral collapse of the 1960's, they are failing to identify the growing unrest within the contemporary World and its implications for society.

Agree with Voris or not, he reflects a growing grassroots unease with authority and an anger directed at elites imposing their views on the majority.

Post-Vatican II ecclesiology represents the very model currently being rejected on the streets of Athens, Madrid and Dublin. This growing civil unrest may well be on its way to the USA and visiting a town near you.

Father with all due respect, Mr Voris speaks volumes about the good being done in the Church.

As far as his [salutary} critical comments on the rot and filth in the Church, this is both charitable and very much needed for all to hear.
Fr Corapi and Michael Vooris have personally helped my wife and I to become better Catholics!

Michael Voris is an extremist ultramontane. He makes most traddies look like Spirit of Vatican 2 liberals. He is against democracy and in favour of an enlightened Catholic monarchy (or was that video an attempt at humour?).

Because everyone is so 'politically correct' these days, I think we've lost a sense of what is masculine, direct, and honest. Agree with him or not, Michael Voris shoots from the hip--and people aren't comfortable with that anymore. As G.K. Chesterton said, “We don’t need a Church that moves with the world; we need a Church that moves the world.” Since our bishops aren't up to moving the world, it falls to the laity. God bless everyone who is out there speaking the Truth and moving hearts, minds, and souls toward the Faith.
