Two important events this Saturday at Westminster:
Latin Mass Society Annual Requiem Mass.
This will be a Pontifical High Mass in the Cathedral at 2pm celebrated by Bishop John Arnold and will be followed by Absolutions at the Catafalque.
Since you will be up in Westminster, do take time to call in at the
Towards Advent Festival
This starts at 10am and goes on all day. Here is the official information:
All day: displays from a wide range of Catholic groups and organisations, sharing the activities of the Catholic Church across Britain. Books, DVDs, Catholic items on sale. Enjoy discovering what young people are doing. The Towards Advent Festival is a great initiative and brings together many different apostolates. If you are going to the LMS Requiem, do leave time to call into Towards Advent in the Cathedral Hall.

The two events are not in any way in "competition" (there are only so many Saturdays in the year, after all.) I have managed to arrange to attend both after the Missa Cantata at Blackfen in the morning. It is very difficult for me to get away from the parish on a Saturday and I usually have to refuse invitations because of our parish schedule but I am glad to have this opportunity to meet up with many lay people who cannot get away on other days.
By the way, the LMS have also arranged Confirmations in the usus antiquior at St James's, Spanish Place for Saturday 20 November at 11.30am, followed by followed by Pontifical Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Bishop George Stack will be the celebrant.
PS. A note from Bryan in the combox:
Could you also add that there will be a Missa Cantata tomorrow 2nd November 2010 at 6.30pm, for All Souls at Corpus Christi Maiden Lane, near Covent Garden.
This is in addition is the weekly Missa Cantata at Maiden Lane on Mondays at 6.30pm.
The Choir, as ever, is looking for new members - we can teach the Propers and Chants of the Mass. For those gents who cannot sing you can learn to serve at a Missa Cantata.
Students or those who are working in Central London very welcome.
