Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.
The short video from Gloria TV explains things adequately, I think. Gloria TV has organised a Stop Vienna Western Mass 2011 petition, addressed to Cardinal Schönborn who was explictly thanked in the homily last year for allowing it.
I encourage you to sign the petition now. If you write a blog, you could also encourage your own readers to sign.
At the Holy Father's Mass in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow last year the catering vans remained open throughout. A woman near me chain smoked all the way through Mass and a friend informed me that a group close to her were drinking alcohol (despite a ban on alcoholic beverages).
What's especially hard for me to take about all this is that priests who try offering the ordinary form Mass ad orientem, or with the Canon in Latin, etc., are often prevented from doing so by their bishops. But this madman gets away with his nonsense without consequence. It's all very hard to understand.
Good grief, this was simply horrid. Horrid. Mass isn't a picnic, definitely, but it's not a costume ball, either. This "Mass" managed to make both the Catholic and the American historian in me do a double-take.

Father,
I do not have a blog, but I'll ask my friends who do to post this.
BTW, how diabolical! It's sick! :(
In Christ,
Patricia
Ah, I had been faster already... ;)
This is truly a shame, and the protests should go on every year until this stops.

How can someone be spiritually nourished when eating a pinic during Mass?

Father, this does show how little these people understand what is going on at the mass.
If this truly were "Western Mass" and Picnic, it is analogous to having a picnic at the hanging of a dear one.
I'm sure most of the people there would never dream of doing such a thing, yet they have and they stand condemned.

Dear Lord, please make it stop!
It has been cancelled!
Thank God!
