Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.
This video was produced by the "New Moment New Ideas Company" for the Government of the Republic of Macedonia's, Ministry of Education and Science. It is one of a series of commercials in a social campaign aimed at promoting education. The campaign headline is "Knowledge is Power"; the headline of the commercial is "Religion is knowledge, too. Bringing religion back to school."
It is salutary to consider how removed the new Blair/Brown UK is from showing such a video as 'public information.' How the values revered by the 'state' have changed. And yet, if ever something similar were screened, it would be used by some to infer that, since evil is not a concrete reality, the devil does not exist, either. We should remember the words of Paul VI in his General Audience of Nov 15, 1972, on 'a dark, hostile agent, the Devil. Evil is not merely an absence of something but an active force, a living, spiritual being that is perverted and that perverts others. It is a terrible reality, mysterious and frightening.'
Father, many thanks for posting this video. I'll use it in my confirmation class. Too often the kids are intimidated to speak out -this will be a great example of witnessing to their beliefs.
Can you imagine the secular, atheistic, relativists foaming at the mouth if this ever appeared on British TV????
The ASA would be flooded, nay deluged!, with complaints. Dan Brown would have a fit!
But the TRUTH of the matter is as the advert beatifully puts it "evil exists when man does not have God's love present in his heart".
I hope the situation in Macedonia is not as dire as it is here, hence the need for the advert. Anyone got any stats or information? Any bloggers visit this site from Macedonia?

God Bless.
WOW !!
That is great.
Doubtless it won't cut much ice with the committed atheists (like those at 'New Scientist') but it is a powerful little video.
Thanks.

Drat. They blamed that fable on Einstein.
Aside from that...
Superb. I now await the equivalent from the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, or possibly the CES....
....I'm waiting....
I admire the spirit of the video, but I know that that story is an urban legend inappropriately attributed to Einstein. I am thus conflicted.
