CIEL UK Conference 2009 - Abbot Zielinski

The CIEL UK chronicle arrived today and with it, news of the forthcoming Annual Conference which will be held on 23 May. I have a wedding that day and will not be able to attend but I do recommend it to you.

At 11am Pontifical High Mass (usus antiquior) at the London Oratory, will celebrated by Abbot Michael Zielinski OSB Oliv. The conference will begin at 2.30pm, chaired by Lord Gill; the principal speaker will be Abbot Zielinski who will address the subject "The Culture and Heritage of the Classical Roman Rite." Abbot Zielinski is the vice President of the Pontifical Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the church and the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archaeology.

The afternoon will conclude with Solemn Benediction in the Little Oratory.

For a "taster" of Abbot Zielinski's writing, see this article translated from L'Osservatore for NLM: Reconnecting the Threads of Sacred Art, Theology and Liturgy.
