Feast of the Annunciation
Prayers and good wishes to you all on the Feast of the Annunciation. On this feast day, I am always reminded of the parish Church I belonged to for the first 18 years of my life at Addiscombe. The new Church was built in 1964 and I have some childhood memories of the old Church and the High Mass which was the one my family used to go to. I was ordained at Addiscombe on 28 July 1984 and so this year is my silver jubilee. (Details of the celebration to follow soon.)
Today at Blackfen, we have our English Mass in the morning at 10am and a Missa Cantata in the evening at 7.30pm. The Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate are coming to sing for us.

Happy Feast and congratulations on your Silver Jubilee. I hope the parish will commission some commemorative mugs and tea-towels! ;-)
We celebrated the Annunciation in Ryde with Low Mass, devotions and Benediction, as well as the blessing a new statue of the “Pieta” (picture on my blog). You really do feel you’ve been to church after a traditional celebration of the liturgy!

As you are aware my Larner Road Estate fixed price contract for the supply of both Gas & Electricity will expire in April 2009.I fear that the increase in my Jobseekers Allowance of £3.80/week also in April 2009 will not even cover the increased costs of fuel that can be expected.
Will you be offering a new fixed price contract at the rate which I am now paying?
If not I will have to consider other alternatives to avoid gut wrenching levels of poverty being further compounded by excessive increases in my fuel bills.
I have been approached by 'npower' who according to www.uswitch.com are the most competitive of the UK energy companies,providing the lowest unit rates for Gas and Electricity,plus £20 Direct Debit for Gas & Electricity,£60 duel fuel discount which totals £100.
What can British Gas offer me,and the poor people of the UK's Larner Road Estate?
