Thanks to Jennifer's Favourite Links who heads her post "If there is a more fabulously nerdy video, I have not seen it."
Two good rhymes:
mRNA mitochondriaIn a whimsical way, and perhaps without intending to explicity, this song has a "light touch" pro-life message woven in (or perhaps "spiralled".)
That back in the day once belonged to ya

Fr Tim, when I saw this I thought you had might finally have lost the plot!
But then I watched it! In it's own peculiar, nerdy way it is an anthem to the mystery of life.
I also followed a link to the USCCB leaflet "Contraception - The Fine Print", is there any way we could get that leaflet or equivalent printed for use in our parishes and schools?
Gonna show this to my youngest son, when he gets back from school. I found this song very empowering, as a mother. Maybe I'm a nerdy mom tho? Yikes!
ROFLOL
Great stuff, Father!
I'm definately going to try and work this in somewhere the next time I have to teach genetics.
Deacon Paul - the leaflet is (c) the USCCB but I'm sure they would give permission for it to be printed for use in parishes and schools.
Dear Father Tim
My daughter Siobhan rang this morning to inform me that I will become a grandad in January for the very first time.
I have forwarded her A Biologist's Mother's Day Song to play to the little one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osWuWjbeO-Y
With the physical science part explained nicely, I then added this song for the soul of the little one too, the most beautiful rendition of Ave Maria I've ever heard, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQVz6vuNq7s

Maybe a post might help?
Vesper - congratulations! Please pass on my kind wishes to Siobhan.
Gillineau - thank you for that. Someone asked me the other day to post on this and you have reminded me (and Joe Shaw has saved me some work!)
@ Father Finigan
Thank you Father Tim, I have forwarded your kind wishes to Siobhan.

If truths suppressed could take to wing.
To Maria Assumpta like birds they'd sing.
No longer numbed by vespine sting.
An Evening Star still shines.

How sweet! Liked the song very much. Sometimes one needs to remember how important one is to one's kids... ;.
