Photos of St Aloysius Glasgow
Photographer Stephen Lipton provides an opportunity for us to rejoice in beautiful Church architecture. A correspondent who sent me some photos of really ghastly Churches pointed me to photos of St Aloysius Church in Glasgow. The Church was designed by architect Charles Menart and built between 1908 and 1910.
These photos form part of a very impressive photostream on Flickr. Glaswegians may especially appreciate the set devoted to their city. Many thanks to Stephen for permission to post the photos here.

Dear Father,
After the great blessing of the Holy Year for Priests, we are proposing a Holy Year for Nuns and we've be delighted if you could adopt the idea and promote it.

God bless the work!
I work in Glasgow city centre and often visit St Aloysius for Mass (I hope to be there today). It is indeed a gem. Your photo is a bit out of date as new seating was installed last year.
St Aloysius is a wonderful church, I attend Mass there often. Great to see it highlighted on your blog Fr!! Here is a link to St Andrew's Cathedral in Glasgow, which is currently undergoing (much much needed!!!!!) restoration. The link contains some pictures of the progress of the work. I would like your opinion of the Peter Howson painting which is going to have pride of place in the cathedral, I have rather 'mixed' feelings about it.

Interesting painting and I think it succeeds in portraying both the darkness and glory of martyrdom. Amazing clip on YouTube of him "destroying" the painting with black paint.
Alastair Rose: Lentfest??????
