Beyond parody?
Mounted police, white van, three officers in body armour, follow-up visit by the hate crimes unit... for distributing an invitation to Easter services.
It is going to be more and more difficult for Private Eye to parody this stuff.

Unbelievable!
This ought to be unbelievable.
Sadly it is not. That particular lobby are gaining such power around the world. It is similar in Australia, but we don't have the police state that Britain seems to be falling towards, yet.
I wonder whether prosecution of the complainant for wasting police time was considered? I do hope so.
It may sound like the cowardly way out, but I'm really glad my time in Britain finishes in three months. I enjoyed the first year and a bit here, but now it's just suffocating. My prayers will always be with Christians in Britain.
I fear this is over-egged somewhat. These people might have been persecuted ... but weren't. I suppose what happened was intimidating, and we know that there are many who would attack the church and who would abuse state authorities, like the police, to do so, and we should be wary of them and expose their odium fidei, but ... nothing came of it here.
:( So sad, this evidence of the fear that people have of Christianity and the seeming self-iportance that leads them to place themselves above the freedom of speech of anyone else.
So being a person affected by Same Sex Attraction Disorder, somehow makes you above everyone else in our multi-topsy-turvy society.
Gay trumps all in this land of ours and this absolute non-sense is dutyfully policed by fully paid up members of our police force who should be out dealing with REAL criminals not wasting time and taxpayers money on politically motivated so-called 'hate crime' whims of a 'person who decided to take offence' against the distribution of leaflets inviting people to an Easter Celebration!
Beyond parody???? NO!!! It's beyond stupidity and absurd beyond all measure! This once great country of ours is an absolute laughing stock, an asses butt! And who is to blame for all this - WE ARE, for having voted in the moral wimps and spineless jellyfish we call politicians who are supposed to be our great leaders!
One day they will be history and this land will be returned to the patronage of Our Blessed Lady as Mary's Dowry. Until then we must pray, pray and then pray some more.
Our Lady help of Christians pray for us.
Shocking.
People don't have a "right" not to be offended! These are the same people who say "If you don't like abortion, don't have one."
Try this on: "If you don't want to go to an Easter service, don't go!"
The fact that the police didn't laugh in the complaintants face from the get go is what is shocking.
And furthermore, let's say that someone HAD had a flyer, etc. that most people would consider offensive like "I think gay people should kill themselves." It would STILL be a person's RIGHT to think that and say that. It's called an "opinion." I think that one's a daft one, but it's not a federal case. anyone can stand on his own soapbox, as long as I am not required to pay for it, or listen to him when he's on it.
Simon P - The chap in the video didn't claim to have been persecuted or harrassed.
But the video is terribly slow, and suggests that something ridiculous is being taken with ponderous seriousness. Which makes the viewer unsympathetic to the intended message.
How about the morris dancers whose invitation to take part in a 'cultural evening' in a school was withdrawn because they blacken their faces, as they've been doing for centuries: http://bangortobobbio.blogspot.com/2009/06/cultural-ignorance-harrassment-of.html
That's rather like the misunderstanding of a US politician using the word "niggardly".
unbelievable. wow. not happening here -yet...
