The Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer have been in Rome on pilgrimage. See their blog for some great pictures of the Eternal City. They followed a custom of English students in visiting St Philip Neri before starting for home. Brother Edward of the London Oratory was on hand to show them round the Church and the rooms of St Philip. (See: Saint Philip Neri.)The photo above is of the altar of St Philip Neri in the Chiesa Nuova. There is a copy of the mosaic at the London Oratory. I have said Mass many times at this altar, thinking of the greeting that St Philip Neri gave to the English seminarians: "Salvete flores martyrum!" (Hail, flowers of the martyrs!

I thought the Redemptorists were the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. Is this an offshoot of the Redemptorists, or a different order? Were they founded by St. Alphonsus Liguori?
Father.
It is wonderful that you posted this - being a seminarian in September from England that is going to FSSP. St Philips words give me much encouragement, and if all goes well, I would be the third man from Our Ladys Dowery being ordained in the Old Rite. Say some prayers for me Father, please?
Anita - this group used to be called the "Transalpine Redemptorists" because the CSSRs opposed their use of the name "Redemptorists". Until recently, they were not in a regular canonical situation, being aligned with the SSPX.
Their full regularisation by the Holy See included the taking of a new name "Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer" which preserves the link with St Alphonsus and the traditional redemptorist charism.
What's with the two handed grab?
