Secularists attack Mom of 10

The National Secular Society have a piece entitled Religious school transport privilege axed in Cheshire at the end of which they link to Catholic Mom of 10 saying that "This Catholic mum lives up to every stereotype imaginable – and then some." Well, I suppose they should know about stereotyping Catholics.

Some of the secularists have been posting comments on her post Re sex-education. If you have time, you might like to go over and join in.

Keep up the good fight Mom of 10.
Know that you are in good company when persecuted for standing firm on your Catholic Faith and Family Values.
As a Dad of 6, I can speak from personal experience over a good many years.
There is nothing new under the 'secular sun', just the same old morally bankrupt, boring and banal comments wheeled out from the dark, dusty closet every now and then as they have nothing new to bring to the table of sensible debate.
God Bless.

God bless Jackie, not only for having 10 children but for her strong faith which I am sure her children will follow.
Our faith is such a wonderful gift we need to share it with our children. Catholic schools have there good and bad points but we cannot leave the teaching of the Faith to them. It is the duty of Catholic parents to bring their children up in the Catholic faith, and it is worth noting that Faith is caught not taught.
If a Catholic School is found to harm children by teaching them false doctrine then we must remove our children to protect them, but sometimes this can be used to open debate at home.
As for the secularists, they will get their just reward, all their objections and tantrums are being noted by our heavenly Father(whom they don't believe in any way).
I remember hearing how someone had said to St Padre Pio that they didn,t believe in hell. He politely answered that they would when they get there!!

Moms of ten will save us from the barbarian hordes who would rob us of our secularism.

When they start attacking sweet Jackie, they are only showing their desperation.
Give it a rest, guys.
What a joke.

Secularists attack a mom of 10? "Attack"? Is merely posing a link to her website an "attack"? It seems you are terribly insecure in your religion if you must be so defensive.

Anon - "This Catholic mum lives up to every stereotype imaginable – and then some"

That's an attack, I think. The insecurity comes out when anyone bites back.

So secure is the secularist that he/she posts anonymously ;-)

Bravo!!

Here in E Sussex the same attack has been mounted repeatedly on transport subsididies to faith schools and the council has now declared that from 2008 families will have to pay £280 per child. The council claims that this is still subsidised, but having added up the price of my child's rail ticket it comes to £280! So just another attack on Catholic education then!

I hope she lives up to every stereotype possible. She wants to be known as a Catholic Mom of 10 and a member of Miles Jesu. Therefore, Jackie should be proud of any stick she might suffer!!!

I'm sure she is, SOTS. And by the way: "Physician, heal thyself."

Mrs Jackie Parkes MJ said...

'i'm lovin it!'

SOTS said...

If I could heal myself, Father, then I wouldn't need Christ, would I!

Apart from being a sanctimonious twerp, sots is obviously a 'troll'.

Go waste someone else's time sots.

SOTS - you are missing the point. By diving into a blog with the name "sick of the sanctimonious" you could be thought to imply that other commenters are sanctimonious. Yet your own comments are - well - sanctimonious. Have you thought of changing your nickname?

You may decide that my own comments are sanctimonious. I'm simply reacting to the generally judgmental 'holier-than-thou' attitude of many of the posters on these blogs. I wonder who set you up as judges over everyone who doesn't follow your way of life? And I am actually a big fan of Jackie's. All I was trying to say is that she shouldn't expect anything less than persecution from secularists if that is how she wants to portray herself. I am, foolishly, frustrated by the way that so many correspondents take the moral high ground. I mean, George, I've never called anyone a 'twerp' on these blogs. It's not very charitable is it? And, no, I am not a troll, just a Catholic turned off by the right-wingers who believe they can judge other in God's place. I will continue to use 'Sick of the Sanctimonious' as it obviously rattles some of you. And you don't mind giving it out, but you do mind if someone plays you at your own game. Have fun.

Fr Tim Finigan said...

Yes, SOTS, I do think your comments are sanctimonious and I think you do not realise that they are. "Sick of the Sanctimonious" is a judgemental monker, attacking "many of the posters on these blogs".

Accusing others of being "judgemental" is a cheap way of avoiding the real issues in debate. You won't get away with that here without reply, especially since you set yourself up as a judge of "posters on these blogs". Expect some "feedback" from time to time.

Irony, is clearly not yet dead.

Three words, SOTS:
