Back from Rednal
Here is a photo of the house at Rednal which was acquired in 1858 by the Birmingham Oratory when John Henry Newman was the Father. The house and grounds are in the process of restoration. The exterior of the house had to be repainted as the surface of the brickwork was in too poor a condition to be cleaned effectively after a previous painting. Several rooms have been more or less completely restored. Here is a photo of the main room on what is the first floor from the front and the ground floor from the back of the building:
On the wall is a picture of Blessed Dominic Barberi who received Newman into what, as he said, "I now believe to be the one fold of the Redeemer" in 1845.
Blogger is a bit slow at uploading photos at the moment. If it speeds up fairly soon, I'll post some more later - otherwise tomorrow.
