H/T to Tony from The Muniment Room for this video of a group of young men who stood on the steps of the Cathedral at Neuquén in Argentina to protect it from desecration during a demonstration by pro-abortionists. You can see them calmly praying the Rosary despite being insulted and spat upon.
Francisco José Fernández de la Cigoña describes how the bishop went out to remonstrate - with the guys praying the Rosary! His post is Unos jóvenes valientes que pasan de un obispo cobarde but I should warn you: although my Spanish is not good enough to understand the various colloquialisms about pantaloons and intestines, it is fairly clear that he is not very complimentary about the bishop.

Why such hatred? There were some young women too praying the rosary, though the front row, as was proper, consisted entirely of young men.
I cannot understand a bishop who would reprimand courageous young Catholics for defending human life, for witnessing to their faith and for protecting the cathedral. And the bishop is a Salesian! I wonder what Don Bosco would think of one of his sons castigating young men and women for peacefully proclaiming the Gospel of Life.
Here in the States, we have a March for Life.
Supposing we get our way, perhaps we'll see something like this March for Death they have in Argentina.
I think their hatred is diabolical, not as a figure of speech, but technically speaking.
I'm from Argentina, and watching this group of pro-aborts and lesbians shouting "killers" to the defenders of the Cathedral, was almost ludicrous.
The lack of moral courage of a portion of our clergy is a real disgrace.
This in a country were Marian shrines attract tens of thousands in a single pilgramage, where a eucharistic miracle happenned less than two decades ago, where we have a healing Priest who attracts people from all around the country.
But they still don't seem able to gather the fortitude to face the cultural trends.
As for the pro-aborts, they must be sensing that if they can't make abortion legal with this administration, they'll never be able to. And that must be fueling their satanic hatred.

Javier
It appears that the video is no longer available from Youtube.
I heard one harridan screaming "Maria...puta" which I think means that Our Blessed Mother was a prostitute.
I hope that someone has sent a copy of the bishop's comments to his superiors and the Vatican.
I am reminded that during the Mexican persecution of the Church only two bishops were openly supportive of the Cristeros and it was the bishops who talked them into giving in.
Yes, I agree that there is something genuinely diabolical in this hatred as shown by its intensity and blasphemous character.
One interesting element in the video is where at one point the pro-aborts are pulling at the banner held by the guys saying the rosary and one is filming them holding on to it and shouting "violence". The idea was clearly to try to provoke them into some mistaken retaliation - when they couldn't do that they tried to manufacture something.
(I just checked and the video was working this morning.)
I would be interested in what the bishop explicitly said. On the one hand, my sympathies are entirely on the side of the men who stood their ground and took the hits. On the other hand, if a bishop gives one a legitimate order, one is obliged to obey it.
Ok,
I'll try to translate what the bishop said. I'm a native spanish speaker, but my english is far from perfect. First the original spanish, then the translation:
"I'm the Bishop, understand?. If you want to pray, go inside. It is you who want to get into a fight. This is not what we do here in Neuquen. You are to blame.
- To blame for what?
- For trying to get into a fight.
- We do not want to fight anybody. We are trying to protect....
-What are you trying to protect?. There is nobody in here.
-What do you mean nobody? We are protecting the monument.
-In Neuquen we protect the monument in another way.
The conversation, conducted by shouting, ended when the youth raised their voices even more to say an Our Father, silencing the words of the bishop, who choose to retreat."
I hope it helps.
A note from the translator: it is not clear to me what they meant by "the monument". In spanish it might mean a big building or statue, but we seldom use it to describe a church.
It is also the place were the Consacrated Host is placed on Holy Thursday for Good Friday. There is no indication this happened on Holy week. This seems to be recent. They might still, be refering, in an incorrect way to the Sacred Host. Being an argentinian, I'm not myself sure what the exactly meant.

Argentina
Many thanks indeed, Javier.
