Half a million visitors

It is a while since I posted any "milestone" statistics. Today seems a worthwhile occasion. We reached half a million visitors at lunchtime. Here is the Site Meter log of visitor 500,000 who logged in from Strathclyde University.

Bloggers usually count visitors rather than "hits" since it is a more sensible statistic for a blog. For what it's worth, we will get to a million hits some time in March at the present rate.

Many thanks to all of you for your interest and encouragement. To think that I started this in a whimsical moment... :-0

Wow... a blog-demi-millionnaire ! I'd need many more links from you and Fr. Z before I reach that exalted state!

(Seriously, though, keep up the great work!)

Fr. Finigan,

(I just e-mailed this at your Rosary email, but don't know how often you check)

I just found this note about the rescheduling of Fra' Bertie's Requiem Mass; I suppose it could be posted on your Blog, filed under both "Malta" and "Abortion" :

The Requiem Mass for HMEmH Fra Andrew Bertie has been put forward to 5.00 pm on 7 March, and will take place at the Church of San Alessio instead of the basilica of S. Paolo. The "World's Women" are apparently descending upon Rome to stage demonstrations at each of the four great Roman Basilicas in favour of a woman's "right" to abort her unborn children. As this will cause chaos and the police cannot guarantee the safety of the Cardinals, Ambassadors, three Presidents (Italy, Austria and I think Slovenia), and royals attending it has been re-scheduled.

Father, I have your blog listed on my blogroll under the heading "blogs that have kept me sane", because it really has stopped me going off the rails (liturgically speaking of course!).
Thanks for the efforts you put into it!

Fr.,

if you think up blog names like "The Hermeneutic of Continuity" on a whim then I wonder how I managed to get through your talks at Faith conferences without my head hurting!

Congratulations, Father! To be sure, it's a pleasant surprise that your blog always seems to pop up when I ask my friends about "great Catholic blogs". And with my friends I mean my Dutch friends. :)

Fr. Tim!

I believe that I am the 500,000th visitor to your site, what an honour!

I am a student at Strathclyde university and was having a browse at lunchtime yesterday (I assume it must be me as I'm unaware of a catholic blogging culture at my uni!)

I have to commend you on the site which I have only recently started using, I find it a highly informative and interesting way to keep up with goings on in the catholic world, as well as an education on what catholicism is really about. (Much better that sourcing info from the Balloon's Broadcasting Corporation)

I must ask, would I now be considered enough of a celebrity to publish my autobiography?

Keep up the good work!
